We’re looking for people who can help Irish manufacturers, utilities and machine builders take advantage of what modern edge tech, automation and software can do for them. In a challenging environment where customers need to innovate, but are challenged by tight budgets and legacy install bases, you’ll bring a creative, practical view on how they can get the most from their automation investments.

Your Goals & Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify automation product opportunities in your customer and prospect base
  • Establish detailed knowledge of customer automation and OT software footprints, and their ongoing needs for investment and support
  • Be comfortable challenging established/legacy practices where modern approaches offer better economy and more flexibility
  • Present our portfolio of on-prem and hybrid cloud solutions for greenfield and upgrade scenarios
  • Effectively communicate different aspects of automation and industrial digitalisation value propositions to a mix of customer roles, including non-technical people
  • Evangelise our key partners’ (GE Digital, Emerson Controls & Software, Kepware) products to customer technical teams and influencers
  • Engage with systems integration partners that work with our core vendor technologies, to ensure their projects reflect modern architectures and options from our portfolio
  • Liaise with internal sales operations team on quotations, fulfilment considerations and customer service matters
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of opportunities and related forecasts on a quarterly and annual basis

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in any of engineering, information technology, marketing, business or other relevant discipline; or equivalent experience such as a minimum of seven (3-5) years’ experience within a hands-on automation or systems engineering role, or in complex technical sales

Background and Expertise

  • Substantial experience selling automation technologies or similarly complex portfolios in a business-to-business environment (5-7 years minimum)
  • Ability to coordinate support from internal technical and commercial resources, as well as vendor partners when pursuing high-value, multi-stakeholder opportunities
  • Comfort with a results-oriented environment where quota attainment is the primary metric
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to mixed technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in using CRM systems for managing sales activities and associated pipeline data
  • Training/experience of formal sales methodologies is ideal
  • Exposure to relevant automation standards such as ISA-88, ISA-95, ISA-101 (HMI), ISA 18.2 (Alarm Management), ISA 62443 (Security) is ideal
